Under the instructions communicated by ” Chief Minister Punjab ” a project to enhance production of vegetables, especially much required kitchen items to ensure prices at competitive rates with extended supply period. Therefore, the basic purpose of the project is to enhance vegetable production in urban,semi urban & rural areas through diversification of high value vegetable crops in the province. The increased cultivation / production of vegetables would not only meet the increasing demand of the population of Punjab province on the one hand and also fetch share in foreign exchange earnings on other hand. Hence,the project ” Enhancing Vegetable Production in Punjab ” is in pipeline.
